7 Benefits of Optimism

How you choose to see life in general affects your experience of life…body, soul, and spirit.  Optimism is the choice to look at things more favorably.   Being optimistic does not cost you anything but can gain so much.  There are many benefits to being optimistic and here are the top seven.  

  1. Research has shown that it increases health and longevity.
  2. It makes you happier.
  3. It encourages you to get things done.
  4. It reduces the stress in your body.
  5. It gives you a more exciting reason to live.
  6. It helps you master your emotions.
  7. It’s therapeutic.

The Bible also encourages us to be optimistic.  Here are some helpful scriptures:

(John 14:1)  Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

(Romans 12:12) Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer.

(Proverb 12:25) Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

(2 Corinthians 7:4)  Great is my confidence in you;  great is my boasting on your behalf I am filled with comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.
